Our Guide To Shirt Collars Angelo Galasso
Finding the right shirt is a highly personal endeavour, there are many elements to consider, such as the material, time of year, where you will be showcasing the piece and what you want your shirt to say about you. Luxury, designer mens shirts are all about attention to detail, and when it comes to shirts the most important detail is the collar. A great collar frames a man’s face, flatters his shape and complements the rest of his outfit. When selecting your next Angelo Galasso Shirt for your collection, here is our guide to choosing from our collars.
The first collar of AG collection is the Angelo Galasso’s Mason. The reason why Angelo chose the name Mason can be found in the origin of this term “maison de mode” which means “fashion house” in french. It is a classic semi-open collar with medium sail and a square neck, an important signature of the Galasso’s tailoring craftsmanship. The design of the collar is highly innovative because it is characterized by a 6 cm internal part called “pistagna” ⎼ which is the piece of fabric that wraps the neck and that is hidden by the collar. This strengthens the structure of the collar’s body and offers to the customers an unique and stylish garment. Angelo Galasso is one of the few brands of this field to produce a collar with this structure because the others are typically narrower and shorter.
Mason Collar shirts are generally perfect for informal situations and can be worn without a tie. Unbuttoning the collar for a casual look is preferred, however you can choose to make it more formal by adding a dickiebow or a tie. Shirts with Mason collars are perfect for casual office attire and business lunches.
The second AG collar is the Corleone inspired by the garments of the Corleone family that appears in the Godfather series. In fact the outfits this family wears throughout the movie perfectly reflect the bold and edgy style of the AG brand.
The Corleone features the same height as the Mason collar but it is different in shape, with slightly more elongated points. A longer pointed collar traditionally gives the appearance of length, and in the case of an Angelo Galasso piece they make for a statement wardrobe pieces to be worn by men who are confident in their own personal style.
All the collars are a versatile casual or formal wardrobe piece, but the Corleone is faultless for daily occasions but also for black tie event, charity galas and formal dining
is the name of a new dimension that Angelo Galasso brings into his brand. Its philosophy and way of expression gives rise to a new groundbreaking yet timeless design. The flawless union between the research of precious materials and traditional craftsmanship is of prime importance to Angelo Galasso, in fact, each and every single piece is handmade in Italy and reflects the beauty and charm of Galasso’s native country.
